Help Build Tomorrow’s Difference Makers

There’s a national shortage of professionals in the early care and education workforce. MVCDC has an innovative solution!

We want to grow our own talent at MVCDC University – a new initiative to make sure none of our teaching positions goes unfilled. When we can’t hire a qualified teacher, up to 20 of our community’s children lose out on our high-quality early care and learning. Meanwhile, the families of those children can’t take jobs in our community.

Our plan is bold — and practical.

We’re creating a career pathway, assisting underemployed staff, job candidates, and interested parents to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Many of our most dedicated educators began their journey with us not as teachers, but as parents.

Program participants will work in our classrooms while completing the all-important credential. MVCDC will provide support, expert coaching, and flexibility to stay on the job.

Will you support us?

To achieve our bold goal, we need fewer than 50 leadership gifts ranging from $5,000 to $150,000. Every gift creates opportunities for the next generation of early childhood educators — and the children they serve

Contact Ben Rider at BRider@mvcdc.org or (937) 226-5664, ext 4215 to discuss giving opportunities.

Invest in a new Difference Maker

It costs about $8,000 to help one new Difference Maker advance their career through MVCDC University.

Our goal is to raise $1 million to support this strategic three-year initiative.

This will allow us to prepare 120 new early childhood educators and to better serve 2,000 children experiencing poverty.

Your gift helps:

  • Cover tuition at existing CDA programs, books, and materials

  • Pay staff during training so they can earn while they learn

  • Provide mentoring and coaching that improves teacher retention

  • Create upward mobility for MVCDC families, staff, and new employees
