Chief Executive Officer
Berta Velilla has been CEO and President of MVCDC since May 2019. Previously, she was with Child Focus in Cincinnati, OH, and has a rich history with Head Start.
Trevor Chuna, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Trevor Chuna is our Chief Financial Officer. He has been with the organization since July 2019, when he started as the controller. He comes with a background in public and private accounting.
Steven M. Kandel
Chief Operating Officer
Steven M. Kandel is our Chief Operating Officer. He came to us in July of 2022 after more than 23 years in public education as a teacher and administrator.
Lynne Storar
Chief People Officer
Lynne Storar, our Chief People Officer, began her career in ECE in 1992 and found her home in Head Start in 2009 as an Early Head Start Teacher. Building her skills in leadership and development since then, she assumed the role of CPO in August of 2024.

Miami Valley Child Development Centers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is part of the national Head Start network. We support families experiencing poverty, providing early learning opportunities for children from 6 weeks to age 5. Our Family Support Specialists help parents and caregivers become financially stable and self-supporting.
