Miami Valley Child Development Centers - Dixie

Miami Valley Child Development Centers (MVCDC) proudly serves Dayton as southwest Ohio’s trusted Head Start agency. For 60 years, we’ve offered free and affordable early learning and child care for children from infancy to age five, beginning with dedicated support for pregnant women. Expectant mothers receive vital services through our programs, and once their baby is born and turns six weeks old, they can smoothly transition into our early learning programs.

Our Dixie location, conveniently situated at 5421 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton, offers a full range of programming to meet the diverse needs of families. This center provides Early Head Start for infants and toddlers, with both part-day (about 3.5 hours per session) and full-day (up to 10 hours) options to accommodate families with varying schedules. Whether you're working, attending school, or simply need flexibility, the Dixie center is equipped to support your family's unique needs.

Our support extends well beyond education. Families enrolled at the Dixie center benefit from the guidance of Family Support Specialists, Home Visitors, and Coaches, who work closely with them to build financial stability, independence, and long-term success.

In most cases, families must earn 100% of the Federal Poverty Level or less to enroll. Children experiencing homelessness or who are in foster or kinship care also are eligible. In some cases, children with disabilities may qualify.
